Village sketches / Mum’s first poem

Mum has written her first poem, while in the Norfolk Broads! She texted it to me and here it is (with permission): Our sparse wake agitates the reeds standing sentinel along the river’s edge. Mum has written her first poem, while in the Norfolk Broads! She texted it to me and here it is (with permission):

Our sparse wake

agitates the reeds

standing sentinel

along the river’s edge.

Cheek-by-jowl,

the slight fluid flow

jostles the bank guardian.

We hear the slightest of rustles

above the tapping of the engine

as we pass by.
